Feedback from Changing the Learning Landscape Event

Practical uses of social media in social work and social policy teaching and research. Held at Birmingham University UK on April 19th 2013.

Dr Tarsem Singh Cooner and Dr Chris Allen created a handson event to help participants explore the practical uses of social media in social work and social policy teaching and research.

The workshop at the University of Birmingham offered an opportunity for those involved in teaching, research or directly managing degree programmes in social work and social policy to find out more about the role social media can play in enhancing the student and tutor experiences.

Through a series of practical hands-on activities and discussions, participants were introduced to social media approaches and provided with discipline-specific exemplars of social media applied in current teaching and research practice.

The participants views of the learning they undertook during the event is outlined in the 5-minute video below. Tarsem and Chris would like to thank Joanne Westwood from the University of Central Lancashire for capturing most of the feedback during the day.
